Raytheon Co. has signed a lease for 72,000 square feet of space at the Sandia Science & Technology Park as it expands its Albuquerque operations.

The Massachusetts-headquartered company will fill the entire building, moving some of its employees from its current location in the Sandia Research Park at 1300 Eubank SE, according to Scott Throckmorton, owner and president of Argus Investment Realty, who represented the landlord in the deal.

The Class A office building was built in 2007 and was formerly occupied by Air Products, said Throckmorton, who said the landlord agreed to terminate the lease when the company transferred the Albuquerque division to Tempe, Ariz. Air Products specializes in delivering gases and chemicals to industrial, energy, technology and health care markets.

Previously known as PolyFlow, the company had at one point employed 100 at the facility at the Sandia Science & Technology Park.

“The good news is that it opened up the building in its entirety” for Raytheon, said Throckmorton. “They can’t shoehorn employees into any other nooks and crannies” at 1300 Eubank, he said.

The building is located in the 300-acre flex-industrial park, which is home to some of the state’s fastest-growing companies.

Throckmorton said Raytheon will begin with tenant improvements in a few weeks at the twostory building at 10800 Gibson SE.

Dan Newman and Debbie Dupes of CBRE repersented Raytheon in securing the lease.
