Where is outrage over Trump?

-

Before this past election, Trump supporters bent over backward to assure themselves and others that this man’s behavior would improve — give him a chance, he’ll become more presidential as he goes. His tendency toward being quick to anger, to insult, to broadcast his own greatness, these traits would just go away.

I’ve always had confidence that, until this administration came in, the United States would be judicious and capable of using self-restraint, especially when deciding to push buttons that launch bombs and missiles we have at the ready.

Because of an impulsive urge, our president did just that — launched 59 missiles at Syria — seemingly because of his incredulousness that even little babies were getting killed there. This attack was to prove what? Some say that it was solely in order to prove to Americans and to the world that he has such power and authority.

(Then) we learn our president has just dropped the “mother of all bombs” — the most powerful conventional bomb in the American arsenal, on an Islamic State cave complex in Afghanistan.

All this strikes the public with confusion, and some fear, too. We wonder what could be next. And we are wondering where are the voices of our congressmen who should be responding, with outrage, to the president? NANCY MADIGAN Albuquerque
