LA’s four-run ninth staggers Phillies

Yankees continue hitting barrage vs. O’s, take over first in AL East

LOS ANGELES — Yasiel Puig, Cody Bellinger and Justin Turner hit consecutiv­e homers off Hector Neris in the ninth, helping the Los Angeles Dodgers rally for a 6-5 win over Philadelph­ia on Saturday night.

LA trailed the Phillies 5-2 before the three straight homers. It was the first time the team had accomplish­ed the feat since 2012.

Austin Barnes then singled off Neris (0-1) with one out. Joely Rodriguez came in and got Andrew Toles to fly out, but Corey Seager singled and Adrian Gonzalez drilled a ball off third baseman Maikel Franco’s glove for the winning hit.

YANKEES 12, ORIOLES 4: In New York, Brett Gardner, Aaron Judge and the thundering Yankees picked up where they left off the previous night, steamrolli­ng past Baltimore for their fourth straight victory.

Gardner homered twice from the leadoff spot and had his first four RBIs of the season. Austin Romine, the No. 9 batter, also went deep and knocked in five runs. Judge, not to be outdone, clocked his latest colossal homer and scored four times as New York won its 14th in 17 games.

In a slugfest Friday, the Yankees hit five homers and rallied from eight runs down for a 14-11 win in 10 innings.

CUBS 7, RED SOX 4: In Boston, Anthony Rizzo hit a two-run homer, helping Chicago rebound from a series-opening loss at Boston.

Miguel Montero and Ben Zobrist each connected for a solo shot for the Cubs, who had dropped two in a row. Kris Bryant had two hits and scored twice.

Cubs right-hander John Lackey (2-3) gave up four runs in six innings, snapping his string of losses in three straight starts. He was part of Boston’s 2013 World Series title team.

Hanley Ramirez and Andrew Benintendi connected for the Red Sox, who have the majors’ fewest homers.

BRAVES 11, BREWERS 3: In Milwaukee, Matt Kemp homered three times and had five RBIs in helping Atlanta beat Milwaukee.

Atlanta got a season-high 20 hits in its fourth straight victory. Dansby Swanson also homered, and Jaime Garcia (1-1) pitched six innings for the win.

ROCKIES 7, DIAMONDBAC­KS 6: In Phoenix, Mark Reynolds singled in the tying runs with two outs and the bases loaded in the top of the ninth, then scored the go-ahead run on a wild pitch to give Colorado a win over Arizona.

Colorado rallied from a four-run deficit to upend Arizona, scoring three runs off closer Fernando Rodney (1-2). He walked two and threw two wild pitches in blowing his second straight save chance. His ERA is 12.60.

WHITE SOX 6, TIGERS 4 (10): In Detroit, Melky Cabrera led off the 10th with a homer off Justin Wilson and Avisail Garcia added an RBI triple, lifting Chicago past Detroit.

Jose Abreu homered twice in his return to the lineup for Chicago.

INDIANS 4, MARINERS 3: In Cleveland, Danny Salazar (2-2) combined with two Cleveland relievers to hold Seattle hitless over the final eight innings and give the Tribe a win.

Jose Ramirez and Lonnie Chisenhall each had two RBIs in Cleveland’s four-run first.

PADRES 12, GIANTS 4: In San Francisco, Wil Myers hit a three-run homer to cap San Diego’s eight-run sixth inning as the Padres rallied to beat San Francisco.

PIRATES 4, MARLINS 0: In Miami, Ivan Nova (3-2) pitched a three-hitter as Pittsburgh beat Miami.

John Jaso homered and drove in two runs for the Pirates, who have won three straight.

ATHLETICS 2, ASTROS 1: In Houston, Khris Davis clubbed his 10th homer to back a solid start by Andrew Triggs as Oakland defeated Houston to snap a five-game skid.

METS 5, NATIONALS 3: In Washington, Michael Conforto hit two homers and Jose Reyes also connected, leading New York past Washington and Stephen Strasburg (2-1).

RANGERS 6, ANGELS 3: In Arlington, Texas, Carlos Gomez’s seventh-inning home run gave him his second career cycle and Yu Darvish allowed two runs in six innings as Texas beat Los Angeles.

BLUE JAYS 4, RAYS 1: In Toronto, Justin Smoak had three hits, including a two-run homer, as Toronto beat Tampa Bay.

POSTPONEME­NTS: The game between Minnesota and Royals at Kansas City was rained out. They will make up the game July 1 as part of a day-night doublehead­er.

Also, the game between Cincinnati and Cardinals in St. Louis was rained out. No makeup date has been announced.
