Gladiators lose to Amarillo

AMARILLO — The Amarillo Venom continues to provide grief for the Duke City Gladiators in Champions Indoor Football league play.

On Saturday, for the third time this season, the Venom (7-1) defeated the Gladiators (4-4), this time 30-28 at the Amarillo Civic Center. The three victories were by a total of six points.

Duke City, which once held a 14-3 lead, got a rushing TD from Lucien Walker and receiving scores by Antonio Bray and Andre London, with both passes from Donovan Porterie. The Gladiators defense held Amarillo QB Nate Davis to 9-for-27 passing, with no TDs and two intercepti­ons. He leads the league with 43 scoring passes.
