Adamsko, Agnes
Agnes Adamsko celebrated her 89th year with us on April 6, 2017, her celebration of a new eternal life began on May 3, 2017.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Al Adamsko. The eldest of seven children, Agnes was born prematurely on her grandmother’s farm in Akron, Ohio, on Good Friday, in 1928. Weighing two-and-a-half pounds, there seemed little hope for her survival. Not only did she survive, she flourished for many years. Her life was hard. She worked from a young age to help support the large family in Braddock, PA during the Great Depression. She inspired her husband and encouraged her children. After many hard years, she pursued her own dream of helping establish a Byzantine Catholic Church in New Mexico. After her retirement from the State of New Mexico, she dedicated her days, and many nights, meeting the needs of her beloved parish, Our Lady of Perpetual Help (OLPH), as office manager and benefactor.
Her strength and great love of people live on through her daughters, Sylvia, Pamela (Pettit), and Linda; her grandchildren, Alexander (Pettit) and wife, Meredith, Amanda and husband, Adam (Lowe), and Tessa (Pettit); and her great grandchildren, Grace, Joyanna, and Eleisa (Lowe) and Heather (Pettit). Agnes’ family expresses great gratitude to Fr. Artur Bubnevych for his spiritual care especially during her last days; Fr. Christopher Zugger for his constant friendship and care over many years; and the outpouring of love from friends and family.
Visitation, Rosary, and Parastas will take place on Wednesday, May 10, 2017, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at OLPH, 1837 Alvarado Dr. NE, Alb, NM 87110. Funeral with Divine Liturgy will be at OLPH on Thursday, May 11, 2017 beginning at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations to OLPH for the parish building fund, which can be sent to the address above.
