Susan Goss was born on January
28th, 1944 in Lubbock, Texas and passed away peacefully in her sleep on April 29, 2017, in Mesa, AZ. She was preceded in death by her daughter Davida S Anderson; husband Brian Goss; brother Kert Kelley; mother Lois Kelley and father Oliver Wendell "Del" Kelley.
She is survived by her daughters, Jacquelynn Orndorf (Dennis), Laura Page (Tye) and Leslie Prigge (Michael); nine grandchildren and twelve greatgrandchildren; two sisters Gwen and Beth; and one brother William.
A memorial service will be held on May 20th, 2017 at 2:00 pm; Bulman Miles Funeral Home, 237 S. Sutherland St, Globe, AZ 85501.
It is with profoundly heavy hearts that we share the news that in the early hours of Tuesday, May 2, 2017, Jordan Elliott Ronald Grow reached the end of his epic battle with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) just shy of his 21st birthday. For fifteen months, with utter determination, tenacity, humor and grace, Jordan fought his cancer. It has been a very long, very hard road, rife with harrowing cliffs, hair-pin turns and rock slides yet he faced each challenge bravely and with conviction that he would ultimately prevail.
Jordan met the challenge of this disease bolstered by the dedication of his mother and support of his family, friends and scores of incredible doctors, nurses and medical staff both in New Mexico and, most notably his oncologist Dr. Gabriel Mannis and the entire team at the University of California San Francisco Medical Center where he spent the last eight months undergoing multiple treatments, including a stem cell transplant.
Born May 24th, 1996, in El Granada, California, Jordan moved to Santa Fe, NM, with his mother, Caitlin, at the age of five. He attended Santa Fe schools, graduating from the Academy for Technology and the Classics (ATC) with the class of 2014. While at the ATC, Jordan competed in the shot put, discus and javelin events at the NM State Track & Field Championships during his junior and senior years as well as competing in the 2014 Down Under International Track & Field event in Australia. While in high school, he worked at the Santa Fe Ski Basin teaching Little Chips at the Chipmunk Corner. He attended the University of New Mexico in 2014-2015 with the intention of pursuing a career in medicine.
Jordan loved to cook and was an avid artist who enjoyed sketching, drawing and photography and his dog, Bailey. He had recently reignited his knitting skills and was preparing to knit dozens of scarves for friends and family.
There is no upside to the death of a gentle, loving, genuinely sweet-hearted young man at the beginning of his life except perhaps to remind us all of how precious and fleeting life is. Wrapped up in the daily pettiness and distractions that ultimately mean nothing, we sometimes forget to take stock in the wonder and joy of every day being. Jordan’s legacy will be to remind us to hug your family, your friends, forgive those who may have wronged you. Take stock in, and be grateful for, today and all that you have and for those who are in your lives.
Jordan is survived by his mother, Caitlin Grow (Santa Fe, NM); father and stepmom Thomas and Anne Ingraham (El Granada, CA); siblings, Trevor, Collin and Hanna Ingraham (CA); grandmother, Tess Ingraham (ME); uncles, aunts and cousins, Geoff (CA) Jason, Sarah, Matilda, Jemima and Maisie Grow (MA), Kevin and Kim Ingraham (MI), Jeff Ingraham (ME), Corey Ingraham (FL), Tera and Sarah Ingraham, Kristy Gustafson (ME), and extended family and friends too numerous to list.
