Sumner and Dene, 517 W. Central, hosts an open house for “New Mexico Landscapes,” by Frank McCulloch, from 1 to 4 p.m. McCulloch is a Governor’s Award winner, Bravos Award winner, University of New Mexico Distinguis­hed Alumnus of the Year and a “Local Treasure” designee. McCulloch taught art to more than 9,000 students at Highland High School. He is also known as a singer and musician. Call 842-1400.

Hunter Kirkland Contempora­ry, 200-B Canyon Road, opens an exhibit for figurative sculptor Eric Boyer and abstract painter Carlos Ramirez from 11 a.m.4 p.m. The two-person show runs through June 4. Call 505-984-2111.

Ventana Fine Art, 400 Canyon Road, hosts a reception for “Internatio­nal Attraction” by English landscape painter Frank Balaam and Scottish still-life painter Angus from 5-7 p.m. Both painters are U.S. residents and have shown at Ventana Fine Art for five years.
