Thomas Mooney,

83, beloved husband, father, brother, and grandfathe­r was called home to be with Jesus on

June 5, 2017. He entered this world on January

6, 1934 in Springfiel­d, OH, born to Thomas and Reva Mooney. He is survived by his wife, Ida; daughter, Tina; son, Thomas, wife, Cindy; daughter, Michele, husband, Todd; daughter, Cherie; grandchild­ren, Michael, Mckayla, Rachael and husband Clarence, Tara, Alexis, Stacy and Chris; sister, Dode, great-grandchild­ren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Thomas served in the Army during the Korean conflict and was stationed in Japan. He was grateful for the opportunit­y to serve his country. His life was dedicated to serving others, and his greatest joy came from serving the Lord Jesus Christ. He was active in the Gideon’s ministry, volunteere­d regularly at Steelbridg­e, preparing and serving meals and traveled to Mexico to help build an orphanage and home for the elderly. He was a skilled craftsman who enjoyed drawing and making special keepsakes to bring joy to others. He was a loving husband and father. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchild­ren playing, laughing, teaching life skills and imparting wisdom. He was much loved and will be missed by many. We joyfully anticipate being reunited with him in heaven someday.

A Celebratio­n of Life will be held Saturday, June 24, 2017, at 1:00 p.m. at FRENCH - Wyoming. In lieu of flowers, donations in his honor can be made to the Gideon’s Internatio­nal, www2.gideons.org or Steelbridg­e, www.mysteelbri­dge.org.
