Welsh, Olivia Alice
Olivia Alice Welsh, 73, of Albuquerque, New Mexico died Sunday, May 14th, 2017 after a brief illness.
She was born in Dearborn, Michigan on August 16, 1943, to Orville Ridnour and Helen Flynn. In 1945 her family moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico where she spent her childhood, after graduating from Valley High School in 1959, she moved to Tuftonboro, New Hampshire. She raised her family in Tuftonboro and moved back to Albuquerque in 1982.
Olivia worked as a secretary for the graphics department at Pak 2000 for many years. During this time she met the love of her life Edward L. Welsh, they married in 1984. They moved back to Albuquerque where they enjoyed camping & fishing at their cabin in Socorro, NM. She was an avid gardener and cook, growing and preserving many vegetables used to prepare delicious meals. Her peonies and roses were the envy of the neighborhood. Her main focus in life was raising her family. She was a beloved mother to all who came to her door & will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She is predeceased by her husband Edward L. Welsh, her son Robert "Bob" J. Bushman, her sister Marie C. Gutierrez, and her stepbrother Theodore Ridnour. Olivia is survived by her five sisters, Margaret Heller of Laguna Niguel, CA, Helen Pirtle of Bernalillo, NM, Michaele Schuman of Conchas Dam, NM, and Nora Gonzalaes of Albuquerque, NM. She is also survived by her daughter Ivena Varney, her husband Fenton Varney Jr., their son Fenton Varney III of Melvin Village, NH, her son Thomas "Tom" Bushman, his wife Sandy Bushman, their daughter Sarah Grace of Tuftonboro, NH, her daughter Allison Samario, her husband Saul, their daughter Valeria, their son Uriah, his wife Ashley, their daughter Vera and son Sylas of Albuquerque, NM, daughter-inlaw Kelley Bushman, her daughters Jessica McBride, Whitney Bushman, Halley Bushman, and Hannah Bushman of Ossipee NH, her grandson Brenton Bushman-Sloanne, his wife Kelly FallonSloanne of Dover, NH, stepdaughters Elisabeth WelshHooper, and Lisa DeMio along with their families in Massachusetts.
The family will gather for a private memorial service in the mountains of New Mexico to honor Olivia’s life. Memorial contributions may be sent to a charity of your choice. Family is everything, thank you for honoring mom’s wishes!
