Master Sergeant Alfred G. Sanchez

Alfred "Al" "Alfie", beloved husband, father, grandfathe­r, brother, uncle and friend passed away at his home in Lincoln, New Mexico on Sat. 6-24-2017 with family by his side.

Alfred is survived by his wife, Dorothy; his children, Steven and his wife Linda and children Tony and Tracie; James, Anita, Eric; his grandson, Stephen his sisters, Jean (her husband Bill) and Patsy (her husband Henry); and many nieces and nephews.

Alfred is preceded in death by his mother and father, Henry Sr. and Carolina, his first wife Aurora and son Ritchie, his brothers, Ernest, Henry Jr., Ernest and Anthony.

Alfred loved everyone and never met a stranger. He enjoyed bringing laughter & happiness to others.

He joined the Navy after high school and served as a Yeoman on an aircraft carrier during the Korean Conflict. Alfred was a hard worker, who enjoyed many hobbies. After retiring from the New Mexico Air Guard where he served a year in Vietnam, be built a house of adobe in the 1970’s, had a hobby of building birdhouses, did rockwork, and planted over 40 Christmas Trees on his land. He worked at Ft. Stanton as a supervisor at Alto Lakes Golf Course maintainin­g the golf carts and helped neighbors with remodeling projects. Alfred will be missed by all.

In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Alzheimer’s Associatio­n.

A Memorial Service will be conducted at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Capitan, New Mexico on Saturday, July 22nd at 10:30 am with Deacon Gilbert Chavez officiatin­g.

Direct Cremation will take place under the care of PCS Direct Cremation Services.
