Man’s death on bike path likely homicide

The man found dead along a northeast Albuquerque bike path on Friday has been identified as Eric Hicks, and police are investigating the death as a homicide, according to an Albuquerque Police Department spokesman.

Hicks, 33, was found early Friday morning in the area of 3200 Candelaria NE on a bike path next to an arroyo, officer Simon Drobik said.

While Hicks’ death is being investigated as a homicide, police have not yet released the cause of death.

There are currently no suspects, Drobik said.
