Baggett, Terence "Ted"

Terence "Ted" Baggett died at home in Albuquerqu­e, NM, on Thursday, September 14, from heart failure. Ted was born in Corsicana, TX, in 1925. He grew up in Texas and Oklahoma. Career fields included serving as Seaman First Class in the US Navy and employment with Sandia Laboratori­es as a Graphic Artist.

Ted married Patricia Randol in 1950. They settled in Albuquerqu­e, where he designed and built their dream home. After retirement, Ted spent most of his time in his ceramics studio creating one-of-a-kind sculptures. He was juried into a number of art shows around the country; one of his sculptures had been poured in bronze. Ted was a strong Christian and a charter member of Sandia Baptist Church, Albuquerqu­e. He tithed faithfully, taught Sunday School classes and participat­ed in building several church facilities in New Mexico. On Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2017, he helped staff the Baptist Convention of New Mexico State Fair booth.

Ted is survived by his daughter Barbara (husband Don); son Bryan (wife Susan); grandchild­ren Brittany, Drew, Bryson, Meghan, Tim, Kate, Andrew, Branden, Lauren; & numerous great-grandchild­ren, brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. Ted was preceded in death by his wife, mother, father, and two brothers.

A Celebratio­n of Life will be held on Saturday, September 23, 5:00 p.m., at Sandia Baptist Church, Alb. Family Visitation will begin at 4:00 in the Choir practice room. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Sandia Baptist Church Building Fund.
