Charles Serrano, an 85 year old lifelong resident of Santa Rosa passed peacefully at his home on Tuesday, September 13th 2017 with his family by his side. The youngest of 11 children to Simon and Petrita Chavez Serrano, Charles affectiona­tely referred to as Charlie was a dedicated banker of 42 years retiring in 1995 that included a lifelong dedication to community civic service. He will join his darling beloved wife Angela Aragon Gerhardt Serrano of 62 years with our lord and angels in heaven. Married in 1952, the following 62 years they raised 10 children and loved and cherished 30 grandchild­ren, 54 great grandchild­ren and two great-great grandchild­ren.

Charlie was a lifelong community leader offering his time and energy in many community organizati­ons. He enjoyed the banking business and how he could help families, businesses and the community grows and prosper. Charlie enjoyed his Family, Farmi ng/Gardening, and Sports. He Loved his Family Dearly; Brothers, Sisters, Uncles, Aunts, Nephews, Nieces, Cousins and Children. Dad, Papo, Uncle Charlie will be dearly missed by everyone he touched. Rosary services were held on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at 10:00 AM followed by the Mass of Christian Burial with Father Antonio Mondragon officiatin­g. Burial will follow in the family plot at St. Joseph Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearer­s are the God Children of his immediate family Jason Serrano, Carlos Delgado, Alejandro Urban, Marka Bonney, Enrique Sena, Sam Serrano, Mario Serrano. All other God Children are his Honorary Pallbearer­s.
