Child porn charges for Air Force officer
ALAMOGORDO — An Otero County grand jury indicted a Holloman Air Force Base lieutenant colonel after he allegedly distributed child pornography over the internet to undercover law enforcement agents, according to a 12th Judicial District Attorney’s Office news release.
According to the release, the grand jury indicted Keith Vollenweider for one count of sexual exploitation of children (distribution), one count of sexual exploitation of children (possession) (child under 13) and two counts of tampering with evidence.
Vollenweider’s arraignment in 12th Judicial Court on his charges has not been set.
In the release, 12th Judicial District Attorney John P. Sugg stated Vollenweider is facing between 1 year and 25 years in prison if he is convicted on all the charges.
Sugg wrote Vollenweider allegedly distributed child pornography over the internet to members of the New Mexico Attorney General’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (I.C.A.C.). are warning pet and livestock owners in Hidalgo County to make sure their dogs, cats, horses and other livestock get vaccinated against rabies.
The bobcat was confirmed to have the Arizona gray fox strain of rabies, meaning that there are most likely several rabid foxes also in the area, the state announced in a news release.
Dr. Paul Ettestad, State Public Health Veterinarian, said fox rabies has been a problem for several decades in Arizona, and was first found in New Mexico in Catron and Grant counties in 2007. Rabies is a deadly viral disease that can be prevented, but not cured.
