Therese Catrina Melton

Therese Catrina Melton, age 49, a lifelong resident of Las Vegas, NM passed away on Thursday, October 12, 2017. She was born to her parents Alfred Sandoval and Louise Geoffrion on December 20, 1967 in Las Vegas, NM.

Therese was a devout Catholic and was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Las Vegas, NM.

She graduated from West Las Vegas Schools in 1985, continued her education at New Mexico Highlands University where she graduated in 1990 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Management Informatio­n Systems. Therese was the Victim Assistance Director for the Office of the Fourth Judicial District Attorney and supported victims for 18 years. She was a member, past president and Paul Harris Fellow of Rotary Club of Las Vegas, volunteere­d with many Non-Profit Organizati­ons, was loved and respected Community member of Las Vegas, New Mexico. She was a selfless dedicated mother and wife and will be deeply missed by everyone. She was preceded in death by her mother: Louise Lucero, grandparen­ts: Henry and Cordelia Geoffrion, and John Patterson.

She is survived by her sons: Noah Melton of Las Vegas, NM; Isaiah Melton and girlfriend Samantha Romero of Scottsdale AZ; husband: Mike Melton of Las Vegas, NM; sister: Denise Jackson and husband James Jackson of Albuquerqu­e, NM; brothers: Leroy Lucero and wife Angela Franco Lucero of Portland, OR; Christophe­r Lucero and Gabriel Lucero of Dallas, TX; nephews: Adam Santisteva­n, Ryan Melton both of Albuquerqu­e, NM; Brandon Melton and Chandler Melton both of Houston, TX; Elijah Locke of Albuquerqu­e, NM; niece: Sophia Lucero of Portland, OR; father-in-law and mother-in-law: Pat and Marylena Melton of Las Vegas, NM; brothers-in-law: Patrick Melton and wife Paige of Houston, TX; Kelly Melton and wife Germaine of Albuquerqu­e, NM; numerous: uncles, aunts, cousins and many friends.

Public visitation was held on Sunday, October 15, 2017 from 9:00 am-9:00 pm and Monday, October 16, 2017 from 8:00 am-10:00 am at Rogers Mortuary Chapel in Las Vegas, NM.

Rosary service will be held on Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at 7:00 pm at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Las Vegas, NM. Funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at 9:00 am also at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Father George V. Salazar as Celebrant. Burial of cremains will follow after funeral service at the Melton Family Cemetery in Las Vegas, NM.
