Lavella Ann Renfro Locke-Watson

-

Lavella Ann Renfro LockeWatson left this world with all of the character and color with which she lived. She was born January 26, 1935 in Albuquerque, NM.

She was proud to be a native New Mexican embracing and enjoying the people, culture, art, activities, and scenery; all the enchantments that NM had to offer.

She lived a full and active life. She graduated from Highland High School in Albuquerque and married her high school sweet heart (Don Locke). The family moved to Los Alamos in 1961 where Lavella lived most of her life. She spent her last year in Salt Lake City, UT where she died September 28, 2017. Her last wish was to ‘go home’.

Lavella was always on the go. She was personable and good company. She was proud of her family and enjoyed spending time with them and her many friends – those she had known for over 70 years and those she had just met.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Mike Watson, and one grandchild. She is survived by her brother, Bill Renfro; her sister, Janyce Litts; four children - Debi Koltenuk, Tim Locke, Sheri Scott, and Dave Locke; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Any person wanting to celebrate Lavella’s life is invited to join her family at a Celebration of Life memorial service on Saturday, October 28, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the United Church of Los Alamos, 2525 Canyon Rd, Los Alamos, NM 87544.
