Alice K. Goodman

Alice K. Goodman of Albuquerque and Rio Rancho NM, Clearwater FL, Escondido CA, New City and Bronx NY passed away October 20,

2017 at the age of

89 and in perfect peace at her residence in Paloma Landing.

Alice had a story tale life. During World War II, as a youth in her birthplace Wallkill NY, she worked on and flew a Piper Cub at Stewart Field, NY. She also worked as a crossing guard for the NYPD, a bus driver for Clarkstown Public Schools, and was a lifelong seamstress. Her "Dammit Dolls", Children’s Cloth Books, and "Oven Door Dresses" were widely popular. She was a league bowler, member of the 600 club, and represented New Mexico in the nationals as a super-senior; she was a notorious sandbagger. She loved to take cruises, collect racoons, and traveled the planet into her mid-80’s; she was able to take all but her youngest grand- child on an Elderhostel trip. A devout Catholic, she supported the church and its missions such as the Pantry at St. Thomas Aquinas Parish.

She is survived by her son Bill and her caretaker and daughter-in-law Denver, son Gary and daughter-in-law Carol, daughter Christina, grandchildren Gary jr., Britney, Cameron, Nicholas and Makena, sisters May and Jane, and a special niece Maureen.

She looked forward to seeing her departed husband Irwin again. Alice always knew what she wanted and requested there be no memorial service.
