Ellen (Susan) Bromberg Skolnick
Ellen (Susan) Bromberg Skolnick passed away on October 14, 2017. She was born on February 15, 1954 in Albuquerque, NM to Marilyn and the late Sheldon Bromberg.
She attended Jefferson Junior High, Highland High School, and obtained a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Denver. After graduating from college, Susan moved to Houston, TX and then New York City where she worked as a buyer for children’s wear at the May Company. Susan was a strong, funny, generous, compassionate woman who despite living for over 30 years with diffuse scleroderma, made the most out of life. Her disease never defined her. Susan traveled all over the world, volunteered at Mount Sinai Hospital and the National Kidney Foundation, counseled numerous patients on how to live with illness, and taught doctors how to treat patients as human beings. She served as an inspiration for her many friends and family.
Susan is survived by her husband, Robert Skolnick; daughter, Dr. Rebecca Skolnick; mother, Marilyn Bromberg; and siblings Steven, David, Chyah, and Ann Bromberg.
