Lujan Grisham endorses Keller for ABQ mayor
Rep. Michelle Lujan Grisham, D-N.M., sent an email to her supporters last week urging them to vote for state Auditor Tim Keller, a fellow Democrat who is running to be Albuquerque’s next mayor.
“We deserve a mayor that reflects our values of innovation, inclusivity, and caring for our neighbors — we deserve Tim Keller,” Lujan Grisham said. “I’m proud to endorse Tim and I know he’s the right choice to create the jobs and opportunities Albuquerque needs.”
She said Keller has proven he has what it takes to get the city’s economy moving again.
“He’s someone our local business(es) and entrepreneurs can count on to prioritize real concrete steps to help them grow their businesses and succeed,” Lujan Grisham said.
Keller is facing Republican Dan Lewis in Albuquerque’s Nov. 14 runoff. Early voting begins Wednesday.
City races are nonpartisan, meaning that candidates’ political affiliations will not appear on the ballot.

The Albuquerque Fraternal Order of Police also has endorsed Keller.
President Bob Martinez said the group is endorsing Keller “because he cares about public safety officers and their families and his pro-police platform to fight crime in the city.”
“We wholeheartedly endorsed Tim Keller because he is the best candidate to stand up for front-line police officers and attack the crime crisis in Albuquerque,” Martinez said. “Tim Keller has a real plan to bring immediate relief to our families while strengthening and reforming APD.”
The FOP has 1,000 active members in Albuquerque. The Albuquerque Police Officers Association endorsed Keller in September.
