Judge Nash made right decision; police scenarios just not plausible
THE JOURNAL could not be more wrong in the criticism of Judge (Nan) Nash. This case has reeked of police misconduct from the beginning. What are the odds that all three officers’ cameras malfunctioned at the same time, or in officers Dear’s case (was) just not turned on? The gun at the scene doesn’t have Mary Hawkes’ fingerprints or DNA? Does any reasonable person believe this woman was a threat that required deadly force?
Just as in the James Boyd case, does any reasonable person looking at the video believe it wasn’t murder? The city apparently thought so — the Boyd family was paid long before the case ever went to trial. So, Judge Nash, knowing “you can never trust a jury” — see OJ case — made the right decision and has held APD responsible. Thank you, Thank you.
