Thelma Winifred Cole
It is with great sadness that the family of Thelma Winifred Hunn
Cole announces her passing on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at the age of 96 years.
Thelma will be lovingly remmebered by her daughters, Juanita, Astuti (Landjur), daughter-in-law, Beatrice. Thelma will also be fondly remembered by her 11 grandchildren, Paashka (Abu Bakr), James, Chrishna, Askia (Debbie), Andrea Vanessa, Lisa, Abdullah, Mochtar, Ubusuku (Nicole), Rosylyn (Donald), Ernest (Gina), and adopted grandsons, Mark and Howard; 19 great-grandchildren, one great-great granchild; sisters, Hazel and Constance; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and very special friends.
Thelma was predeceased by her parents, Lester and Angeline Neva Hunn; sister, Evelyn W. Wilson; brothers Charles, Lester II, and Robert Hunn; son, Ernest Cole; son-in-law James Jefferson, Sr., Godson, Raymond Smith, and former husband John Cole.
Belonging to AME Churches in the various communities in which she resided, Thelma served in may capacities and was especially honored to be an AME Connectional Life Missionary. She was a member of Great Turner Chapel AME Church and also belonged to Church Women United in Albuquerque and Atlanta.
A Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Thelma was held Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at 11:00 a. m. at Greater Turner AME Church, 4650 Cascade Road SW, Atlanta with Pastor Toni Ingram, officiating. Interment in Albuquerque, New Mexico at Sunset Memorial Park & Mausoleum was held Friday, December 1, 2017.
