Connie (Elvira) Abeita

Connie (Elvira) Abeita, age 82, passed away on January 13, 2018 in Rio Rancho, NM. Connie was born on February 11, 1935 in Albuquerque, NM to her beloved parents , Michael and Consuelo Montoya. Connie attended St. Mary’s High School in Albuquerque, NM where she later received her high school diploma. On December 05, 1970, Connie married her loving husband Robert Abeita; they shared over 47 blessed years together. Connie worked as a newspaper printer for many years, 10 years working with the Albuquerque Jour nal/Tribune, three years working with the Advertiser in Honolulu, Hawaii and 23 years working with the Seattle PI Times in Seattle, Washington. Connie will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her dearly.

Mrs. Abeita is preceded in death by both of her parents, Mike and Consuelo Montoya; her brothers, Manuel (Manny) Montoya and Roland Montoya; her sister, Evangeline (Vangie) Sedillo; and her son, Alan Nilsen. She is survived by her husband, Robert (Bob) Abeita of Edgewood, NM; her daughters Becky (Sal) Lucero of Rio Rancho, NM; Debi (Mike) Conrad of Albuquerque, NM; her step-daughters, Sheryl Abeita of Denver, CO and Caroline Abeita of Isleta, NM; her daughter-in-law, Tina Nilsen of Maricopa, AZ; also her 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and her dog, Punkin. The family would like to thank Lynn and staff at Lifespire Assisted Living and Jami and staff at Alliance Hospice, for their excellent care that they showed our mother, Connie during her illness.

A mass will be held on Friday, January 19, 2018 at 11:00 am, at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church located at 1502 Sara Rd, Rio Rancho, NM 87124.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 26, 2018 at 6:00 pm, at Daniels Family Funeral ServicesSout hern Chapel located at 2400 Southern Blvd, Rio Rancho, NM 87124.
