Meth case ends with guilty plea
LAS CRUCES — A Las Cruces man pleaded guilty Wednesday to trafficking methamphetamine under a plea agreement with federal prosecutors, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office in New Mexico.
Gilberto Garcia, 42, was arrested in October 2017 on a criminal complaint charging him with possessing methamphetamine with intent to distribute.
According to the complaint, law enforcement officers seized about 128 grams of methamphetamine from Garcia’s vehicle after a routine traffic stop on May 10, 2017, in Doña Ana County.
During Wednesday’s proceedings, Garcia pleaded guilty to a felony information charging him with possessing methamphetamine with intent to distribute.
