Frances M. Paulos

-

Frances M. Paulos, 91, entered her eternal reward on January

19, 2018, after a brief illness. Her eight children,

Joe, Tony, Dan,

Patt, Chris, Mary, Peter and Paul, gathered at her Albuquerque home to spend the final days with her.

Fran was born in Elkton, SD on November 18, 1926 to Italian parents Samuel Saccony and Rosa Simoni. It was during her high school years that her parents moved their family of seven to Sioux City, IA where they ran a restaurant. After World War II, she met and married Tom Paulos on June 3, 1946. For 26 years their large family lived in Sioux City, but in 1971, when vacationing in Albuquerque, NM, Tom was offered an excellent job at St. Joseph’s Hospital - and readily accepted it. The couple traveled back to Iowa to pack their belongings and then returned to the Land of Enchantment for the remaining years of their lives. Five of their children live in New Mexico and the others live in Dallas, Tucson and Reno. For 15 years Fran worked as an administrative secretary at Sandia National Labs, later retiring to travel and to enjoy her eight children, 19 grandchildren and too-many-to-count great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years.

To help celebrate her cherished life, a rosary and Memorial Mass will be held on January 31, 2018, at 8:30 am at the Shrine of St. Bernadette, 11401 Indian School Road in Albuquerque. A simple reception will be held at the parish hall immediately following the Mass. Frances will be interred with her husband at the National Cemetery in Santa Fe. ETERNAL REST GRANT UNTO FRAN, O LORD – AND LET PERPETUAL LIGHT SHINE UPON HER.
