Frances "Sugar Babe" Rauch, 88, born September 21, 1929, passed peacefully on Saturday, January 13, 2018. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Herman "Mac;" her oldest daughter, Rondolyn R. O’Brien; parents, W.R. Young and Gay V. Young of Eliasville, TX; sisters, Dorothy Wright Spivy, Mattie Wright, and Wanda Gay Corbett. Frances is survived by daughter, Terry G. Mileshosky of Albuquerque, NM; son, Britt Mileshosky of Edmond, OK; daughter, Brenda A. Bronson and her husband Gene of Longview, TX and their children, Melissa, Jessica, Casey and granddaughter, Cassidy; son-inlaw, Daniel O’Brien; and sister, Roberta "Bertsy" Dye of Cisco, TX.

Frances was born in Eliasville, TX, to William Robert and Gay Virginia Elledge Young. She grew up on her family’s cattle ranch as a cowgirl, deep in the heart of Texas. She had hope in God’s early morning sunrises tending to cattle and found peace in God’s majestic sunsets.

Sugar Babe graduated from Graham High School in TX and went to Draughon’s Business College in Wichita Falls, TX, where she fell in love with her teacher, Herman, to whom she was married for 62 years. Her family moved to Albuquerque, in 1957, where she came to love the Land of Enchantment. She had a strong Christian belief and the light of Jesus shone through her to all those around her. She worked endless hours serving the community through the family’s CPA firm, the Democratic Party and volunteer work.

She was a member of First Presbyterian Church and served on the Board of Deacons. She gave countless hours to her family, neighbors, her church and community, and was foremost a servant to her Lord. Sugar Babe’s never-ending smile, quick wit/humor and giving heart will be deeply missed by all whose lives she touched. We love you, Sugar Babe.

A special thanks to all the kind and loving staff at the Retreat Alzheimer’s Specialty Care in Rio Rancho, NM, where she was a resident for the last few years of her life.

A memorial service will be held for Frances on Wednesday, January 31, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 215 Locust NE, Albuquerque, NM, 87102 with Reverend Matthew Miller officiating. A reception at the church fellowship hall will follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to church or charity of choice.
