Lobos host meet today, Saturday

While teammate Josh Kerr is in New York preparing to run at the Millrose Games, his University of New Mexico track and field teammates are here and back in action today and Saturday.

The New Mexico Classic, UNM’s third consecutive weekend home indoors meet, takes place over those two days at the Albuquerque Convention Center, and the Lobos are trying to fine-tune their performances with the Mountain West Conference indoor meet just three weeks away.

On the women’s side, No. 7 LSU, No. 8 Texas, No. 10 Ole Miss and No. 22 Alabama are in town this weekend, while the No. 6 Crimson Tide and No. 14 Texas highlight the men’s field. New Mexico State and New Mexico Highlands are also in the women’s field.

Action begins today with field events at 4 p.m. and track events at 5. The meet resumes at 10 a.m. Saturday.
