SPORTS SPEAK UP!

UNM BASKETBALL player Connor MacDougall has been dealt a crooked hand by the Pac-12 Conference and his former school, Arizona State. Playing a mere 23 minutes and then being injured should not count as a full season of play. What’s equally disappointing, however, is that UNM has apparently left MacDougall on an island to try to win an appeal on his own with the Pac12. Isn’t there anyone (at UNM who) could contact the Pac-12 Commissioner, Arizona State athletic director, and the NCAA? The season’s almost over. At least put up a fight for one of your own.

I WONDER who set up the television schedule for the Lobo men’s basketball this year? Oh yeah — nobody.

PERHAPS CJA’S idea of a new logo for the Indians would be the confederate flag and trade all nonwhite players, and replace the national anthem with Dixie.

YO, CJA, according to you Trumpians, a team finally losing an ignorant racial slur as a mascot is PC? You were so sad when you folks couldn’t call Blacks the N-word anymore, weren’t you? Good news for you though, you can still purchase gear with that stupid racial insult in Northern Ohio after 2019. …

RUDY, SO THE Aggies didn’t beat a winning team? That includes the loser Lobos right? The Aggies don’t have the facilities or money UNM has, but they still beat your Lobos , 5 in a row Rudy!

IT’S DIFFICULT to think of anything more fun than being in Minneapolis this week for the Super Bowl with the high temperatures below freezing. No golf but the ice skating should be good. What we’ve seen so far is people dressed in layers trying to have a good time. The NFL turned down an ad from a Veteran’s group for the game’s printed program that said ‘Please Stand.’ So will there be any “kneelers” for the national anthem? Maybe the next cold weather destination set by the self-destructing NFL will even have the game itself played outdoors.
