New Mexico seems to be sharing the wealth in the digital world.

The digital series “Snatchers,” which is produced by Stage 13, will begin principal photography in February through mid-March in Albuquerque.

The series will film its second and third seasons, which air on Verizon’s go90 media brand.

This isn’t the first New Mexico-filmed show to air on the platform. The series “T@gged” airs on the g090 and is prepping its new season.

“We’re proud to welcome ‘Snatchers’ to New Mexico as part of our growing platform of web-based series,’” says Nick Maniatis, New Mexico Film Office director. “New Mexico’s powerful incentive, robust film infrastructure and incredible natural beauty make us a perfect fit for these productions, as we continue diversifying our economy.”

Maniatis and the film office have been trying to grow the digital media for years.

“Everything changes in an instant,” he says. “We’re trying to stay up to date in all the types of shows that are being made. Each day is different.”

According to the film office, the production will employ 50 New Mexico crew members and about 15 New Mexico principal actors. This is in addition to about 200 background talent.

Created, written and executive produced by The Olde Money Boyz — Stephen Cedars, Benji Kleiman and Scott Yacyshyn — the series features a returning cast, including leads Mary Nepi, Gabrielle Elyse, Austin Fryburger, JJ Nolan, Nick Gomez and Ashley Argota.

Season two of “Snatchers” picks up right where season one left off.

Teenage heroes Sara, played by Nepi, and Hayley, played by Elyse, are in over their heads against the evolving alien threat.

With Sara’s mom, Kate, played by Nolan, in the clutches of the creatures, the girls have to enlist help from Skyler, played by Fryberger, the alien baby-daddy himself.

“Snatchers” is directed by Kleiman and Cedars.
