What you need to know about the Broncos:

Boise State has won three in a row, including edging UNLV 93-91 in overtime in Boise on Saturday night. In league play, the Broncos are tops in effective field goal percentage (56.5 percent) while the Lobos defense ranks second to last, allowing teams to shoot an effective field goal percentage of 54.4 percent. Another potential statistical mismatch is on the boards in an area where UNM has been dead last in league games, allowing opposing teams to grab 33.6 percent of the offensive rebounds on their missed shots, meaning one out of every three shots an opposing team misses, the Lobos are allowing them to get a second chance at scoring.

New Mexico Lobos (12-12, 7-4 Mountain West) Coach: Paul Weir (40-18, 2nd season overall; 12-12, first season at UNM) Projected starters Pos. Ht. What you need to know about the Lobos:

Vladimir Pinchuk (concussion) was not a full participant at Monday’s practice, nor was Jachai Simmons, who just returned after nearly a week out of town due to the death of his father. Saturday’s return to the lineup of Antino Jackson (one game suspension) and Sam Logwood, whose last game prior to Saturday had been Jan. 3 against Boise State, gives the Lobos enough bodies to go all out on the full-court pressure again. Minutes for Joe Furstinger, however, have been a concern. Without Pinchuk, Furstinger has played far too many minutes for Weir’s liking. Against a large Boise State team, signs of fatigue for the Lobos center will be monitored closely.
