MAGAZINE SENDS ABQ MORE LOVE

Once again, Travel + Leisure praises city’s vacation possibilities.

Travel + Leisure’s February issue gives Albuquerque some more positive ink.

This shoutout is on the heels of the Duke City being included in T+L’s “50 Best Places to Travel in 2018” list in December.

Titled “Albuquerque Arrives,” the full-page spread posits that “the city bestknown for ‘Breaking Bad’ — and for the access it provides to New Mexico’s many charms — is now poised to become a desert destination in its own right.”

The piece devotes a good amount of space to the Hotel Chaco, which opened last May. “Leisure travelers have new cause to stick around,” reads the article, highlighting the art, decor, two bars and rooftop lounge at the luxury hotel.

The article also gives a tip of the hat to the Sawmill and Old Town districts, name checking businesses like Prismatic Coffee and Spur Line Supply Co., Deja Vu Refinery and Old Town Antiques.

Beyond the neighborhoods, “the city’s regional cuisine shines,” reads the article. Home-grown eateries like Duran Central Pharmacy, Mary and Tito’s, Pueblo Harvest Cafe and Campo at Los Poblanos are singled out.

“The tourism industry plays a vital role as an economic engine for the city, and it’s wonderful to see Albuquerque’s ongoing developments and evolution — combined with its culture and heritage— captivate audiences across the nation,” said Tania Armenta, president & CEO of Visit Albuquerque.
