Some New Mexico museums, historic sites to close for Easter
Da Vinci exhibit will be open, with $5 off admission price
Easter is approaching and the New Mexico Department of Cultural Affairs has some plans for its museums and state parks.
According to the DCA, the four Santa Fe museums — New Mexico History Museum/Palace of the Governors, New Mexico Museum of Art, Museum of International Folk Art and Museum of Indian Arts and Culture — will be closed on Sunday, April 1.
Because free admission is offered to New Mexico residents the first Sunday of every month, free admission will be offered on Sunday, April 8, instead.
The state historic sites will also be closed over Easter.
Those include the Lincoln Historic Site, Jemez Historic Site, Fort Stanton Historic Site, Fort Selden Historic Site, Coronado Historic Site and Bosque Redondo Memorial at Fort Sumner.
The other four state-run museums will be open for Easter. Those include:
The New Mexico Museum of Natural History and Science, National Hispanic Cultural Center Art Museum in Albuquerque, The New Mexico Museum of Space History in Alamogordo and the New Mexico Farm & Ranch Heritage Museum in Las Cruces.
For those who choose to visit the New Mexico Museum of Natural History & Science, admission to “Da Vinci — The Genius” is $5 off regular price for adults, seniors and children, according to the press release.
