Torrington, Wyoming .......... Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for MAX C. DELGADO HERRERA 67, at 2pm Monday, May 21, 2018 at St. Rose Catholic Church with Father Vincent Parsons officiatin­g. Burial with military honors will follow in the Valley View Cemetery.

Max took his last breath on May 14, 2018 at his home in Scottsbluf­f, Nebraska. A Rosary will be recited Sunday at 6pm at the church. Arrangemen­ts are by the Colyer Funeral Home and condolence­s may be sent to www.colyerfune­ralhome.com.

Max was born June 26, 1950 in Riverton, Wyoming the son of Emma and Charles Herrera and at age four he along with his sister Alice were adopted by John and Josephine Delgado. He grew up and attended school in Torrington, Wyoming. From 1967 to 1970 he served in the US Army and received his GED there. After his discharge he returned to Torrington where he attended two years at EWC. On December 22, 1972 he married Guadalupe Martinez in Guernsey, Wyoming and they were later divorced. He lived in Cheyenne, Wyoming until 1985 when he moved to Albuquerqu­e, New Mexico where he worked as a police officer for twenty-eight years. He married Cheryl A. Gabaldon and they were later divorced. He moved to Scottsbluf­f, Nebraska in 2010.

Max enjoyed cars, playing guitar, building, welding and was a great artist. He enjoyed attending his grandchild­rens activities. He was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church.

Max is survived by his daughters; Jennifer Landers Enter of Witten, Germany, Victoria (Eric) Casillas of Scottsbluf­f, Nebraska, Aurora (Orlando) Linz of Scottsbluf­f and Kathleen Herrera of Scottsbluf­f; sons Max Herrera Jr and John Paul Herrera both of Albuquerqu­e, New Mexico; his mother Josephine Delgado of Torrington, Wyoming; sisters Jennie Herrera, Rosie Garcia, Linda Montoya, Dorothy Gallegos, Alice Quintana and Lydia Vargas; brothers Charles Richard Herrera and David Herrera; and ten grand-children. He was preceded in death by his biological parents Emma and Charles Herrera; his adopted father John Delgado; sisters Genevieve Martinez, Charlotte Herrera, Delores Delgado and Gertrude Herrera; and brothers Tommie Herrera and Pete Vargas.
