Israel stands in the way of solution
I HAVE BEEN alive for 17 years. This is a very long time but only subjectively speaking. In a way a year can be long to an ant, however, no matter whether you think a year is a long time or 17 years is a long time, the continuing fight in Gaza has far exceeded any comprehensible time. The undeniable truth is that both sides are to blame. However, one side has more control than the other; one side has more say in conflicts than the other.
... The potential for a two-state solution exists, but one can question whether Israel really even desires a fair two-state solution.
Israeli occupation exists in the Palestinian nation, which violates international law. Israel claims only a defensive position as the reasoning for such occupations. While there is no doubt there are the few extremists of Palestine who wish to see Israel dissolved, such as Hamas and other Islamic radical terrorists groups, the underlying fact remains that the majority of Palestinians desire peace.
With the financial and defensive support of the international community given to Israel there should be an assumed responsibility to see an increased effort to push for a two-state solution. The fact is that the capability to create and (to) ensure a peaceful two-state solution exists, but continued moves to infuriate and aggravate tensions such as the movement of the American Embassy to Jerusalem show a lack of desire of Israel to push a solution while the Palestinian people continuously push and plead for peace.
