Summer promises a full schedule of musical performances
Summertime can mean relaxing in the backyard or camping in the mountains or flying off on vacation.
For many, the season can also mean choosing which performances to attend.
And New Mexico is offering audiences an array of music all summer long.
Here’s a list of some of those concerts and performances.

Salsa Under the Stars and Jazz/ Blues Under the Stars are twin series of concerts that will run weekends from June 1 and 2 through Aug. 10 and 11 in the Albuquerque Museum’s Amphitheatre; except for the free June 1 concert, which is across the street at Tiguex Park. Bands in the Salsa series include Son Como Son, Nosotros, Ivon Ulibarri and Cafe Mocha and the Spanish Harlem Orchestra. Angel Fire
Music from Angel Fire’s summer festival Aug. 17-Sept. 1. Chamber music concerts in Angel Fire as well as Taos, Raton and Las Vegas, N.M. The festival links its 35th anniversary season to the music of W.A. Mozart, who died at 35 and to works that J.S. Bach, Ludwig van Beethoven and Johannes Brahms composed at age 35. The 46th season of the Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival runs from July 15-Aug. 20 with 40 concerts in St. Francis Auditorium and at the Lensic Performing Arts Center, three other concerts at Albuquerque Academy. Performers include the Danish Quartet, the Zebra Quartet, and pianists Gilles Vonsattel and Gloria Chien. Santa Fe Desert Chorale’s season runs from July 21-Aug. 9 with performances at various venues in Santa Fe.
