Is Topgolf good for Albuquerque? Why?
CARLOS LOPEZ 42, Albuquerque
“Yes, I think it is because it’s a fun environment to go and hang out, have food and drinks. Everybody can do it, even if you’re not a golfer. Everybody likes to play. It’s fun. I’ve been to a couple of them and I think it’s great. More people go to it who aren’t even golfers. I think it’s good because it gets more people involved with golf.”
DANE CASTEEL 32, Albuquerque
“Yes, it’s good for Albuquerque. We need more up and coming businesses establishing themselves in our little desert. Yes, it’s great. Pretty much anyone who comes into town to visit me I’m going to invite them to Topgolf. It’s good for parties. I’m not going there and do what I do here (at Ladera). I’ll only go (to Topgolf) with friends and family, and significant others.”
NICK KNEE Assistant Golf Professional, Sandia Golf Club
“Personally, I think it’s good for Albuquerque, from a golf perspective. It provides a welcoming and fun environment to that new golfer but also a competitive atmosphere for the avid player. It gives that new player a taste of golf. Hopefully it sparks an interest for that new golfer that will now be more inclined to contact a PGA professional to learn core fundamentals to then go out and play. As club professionals and experts, we are tasked to grow the game and any avenue we can create to drive more interest at any level is fantastic.”
