LindaRose Monska left her earthly body and received her new heavenly body on March 25th, 2018 while surrounded by family at her residence in San Antonio, TX. Linda is survived by her son Douglas, his wife Julie, grandchild­ren Cassidy, Caitlyn, and Claire of San Antonio, TX, mother Margaret Schuyler of Athens, IL, sisters; Ann Massett and companion Reggie South, Betsy LeGrand (Geno), Mary Engleton, Phyllis Lewis (Dale), Alice Sanders (Doug), brother Rick Schuyler (Abby) all of Illinois, and many nephews, nieces, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Carl, father William Schuyler, and brothers Larry, Tom, Ed, and Pat. Linda was born August 30, 1948 in Effingham, IL, the middle child in a family of eleven. She had five brothers and five sisters. She graduated from Taylorvill­e High School in 1966. She went to work at Montgomery Ward in 1967 where she met her husband Carl, whom she often said was "the wind beneath my wings". They married September 7, 1968 and son Doug was born in October 1969. Linda was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis at age 15 and had serious health issues throughout her life. She overcame her physical limitation­s with an indomitabl­e spirit and perseverin­g attitude. She never complained and when she did discuss her condition always said that there were a lot of people worse off than her. She was a Christian raised in the Catholic faith, and later joined Redeemer Lutheran Church in Albuquerqu­e, NM in order to attend Sunday service with husband Carl. She taught Sunday school, was active in the Lutheran Missionary League, and participat­ed in many other church activities. Her grandchild­ren were the love and delight of her life. She loved to travel and see new places, and was an avid picture taker, particular­ly at any event involving family. She is and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Linda deeply appreciate­d the prayers, love and support she received from family and friends during her final two years. A memorial service will be held at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Decatur, IL, (1 Bachrach Court) on Saturday June 30, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. A visitation with family will be held at the church at 9:00 a.m. immediatel­y preceding the service. Interment will occur at the Lutheran cemetery in Decatur, IL immediatel­y following the service.
