-

1923- 2018 Eva Santana passed away peacefully on June 18, 2018, at the age of 94. She was born in November of 1923 to Frank C. Baca and Isaura Cordova in Martineztown (Albuquerque). Eva was a very dedicated sister to her three brothers and three sisters, half-brothers and halfsisters. She married Abraham Santana from Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico after meeting in Los Angeles during WWII. She was preceded in death by her husband. She is survived by her son Joe Santana and her daughter Joanna Midyette, along with their spouses Gloria Santana and Monty Midyette. She is also survived by her five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and a great-great grandson. They will miss her attentiveness and love for them. She loved her nephews and nieces and their spouses as her own and sharing her many stories with them. She had the charisma to inspire, the ability to encourage, and most importantly she took the time to listen.

Eva was someone the family depended on very much, someone they thought the world of, and someone who was full of energy. She loved being outdoors. She loved coming up with wonderful ideas and creating beautiful things. She could remember families from years gone by, names, places, experiences. She loved music and singing with her sisters and brother-in-law and listening to her son play “Old Rugged Cross” on his steel guitar.

“So I’ll cherish the old rugged cross, Till my trophies at last I lay down, And I will cling to the old rugged cross, And exchange it some day for a cr own.” We were all truly blessed to have known and love a woman so strong, wonderful, compassionate, and caring. We will always love you and miss you dearly. You Are A Beautiful Reflection Of God’s Love. There will be no formal service per her request.
