Vets were also separated from kids

-

WHEN MY daughter was 10 days old, she was ripped away from me by the U.S. government, and I was only able to be with her for 10 days the following year. What action had I taken that caused the government to separate me from her? Along with hundreds of thousands of others, I was serving a combat tour in Southeast Asia as a member of the U.S. Air Force.

Since Vietnam there have been many, many more service members separated from their families while supporting combat operations. The men and women who died during those tours were permanently separated. And after the draft was abolished following Vietnam, all those veterans were volunteers. Remember those veterans when you become upset about children being separated from family members who are breaking our law by willfully and illegally entering the United States.
