DONATIONS

FEEDING PETS OF THE HOMELESS needs donations of dog and cat food as well as leashes and collars for cats and dogs. Donations can be dropped off at ABQ PetCare, 9032 Montgomery NE, 299-8387, Aztec Animal Clinic, 4340 Coal SE, 265-4939 or VCA-Wyoming, 2740 Wyoming NE, #1, 298-7444. Donations will then be delivered by members of First Unitarian Church Animal Advocates to local homeless shelters for distributi­on. The organizati­on also coordinate­s wellness and shot clinics for pet owner’s animals and monetary donations are appreciate­d for these clinics. VOLUNTEERS

PAWS THRIFT STORE seeks volunteers to assist customers and to prepare donated items for sale in the store. Hours can be flexible. All proceeds from the store goes to Cottonwood Cats Sanctuary, a 501(c)(3), with the mission of providing permanent homes to mature cats that have outlived their caregivers. PACA (PEOPLE’S ANTI CRUELTY

ASSOCIATIO­N), needs volunteers to provide loving care to homeless and abandoned cats waiting for adoption at KITTY CITY, a space generously provided for the cats by Clark’s Pet Emporium located at 11200 Menaul NE. KITTY CITY is a free roaming open space environmen­t with cat runs and plenty of play areas. We have openings for volunteers seven days a week. OASIS READING MENTORS, Oasis tutoring program is recruiting 100 reading mentors. The commitment is to volunteer one hour, one day, a week for one or two school years. We read with a K-4 public school student. Contact Vicki at 8844529 for training and background check informatio­n.

SILVER HORIZONS, a local, non-profit organizati­on dedicated to helping lowincome seniors in Bernalillo, Sandoval, Santa Fe and Valencia counties. Volunteers are needed to help distribute free groceries at our Senior Food Markets and via our delivery to homebound seniors. Each month, Silver Horizons provides free groceries to more than 3,000 seniors, and almost 900 grandchild­ren many of these seniors are raising. A variety of days/ times are available. AGE GAMES, is seeking volunteers. More than 2,500 volunteers are needed to support the Games Aug. 3-8, 2018, in Albuquerqu­e.
