Charlene Giles, long time Albuquerqu­e resident, died peacefully in her sleep on June 20, 2018 at the age of 90 in Plano, TX. Charlene was born in Sweetwater, TX and grew up in Lubbock where she married the love of her life, Bob in 1946. They moved to New Mexico and raised two children – Rich and Shelley. When her children were grown, Charlene obtained her real estate license and became a top producer for Hooten-Stahl Realtors. Eventually she started the relocation division for Hooten-Stahl and traveled around the country promoting relocation Kservices to companies moving into Albuquerqu­e. Bob passed away in 1985 after a long battle with leukemia and shortly thereafter Charlene decided to move to Memphis to be closer to her children. She became very active in her church in Germantown, was a discussion leader in Bible Study Fellowship and became widely known for her baking skills! In 2001 she moved with Shelley to the Dallas area and made the decision to settle south of Ft Worth in Granbury, TX. She loved living in a small town while still close to her family. She enjoyed many friends and neighbors in Granbury and continued for several years to be involved in BSF and her church.

When her health deteriorat­ed in 2014 Charlene moved to Plano to be closer to Shelley. Preceded in death by her beloved husband Bob, her parents, CM and Audie King, her sisters Jo Florence and Delia Marks and her brother Charles she is survived by her son and daughter-inlaw Rich & Debbie Giles of Ft. Worth; her daughter Shelley of Dallas; grandsons Jason and Ryan, great-grandson Aidan Giles; her brother Henry and numerous nieces and nephews. Charlene requested cremation and burial with Bob at the National Cemetery in Santa Fe. Services will be held Friday, August 10, 2018 at 10:30 a.m.
