ESPAÑOLA HUMANE

Waiting for a home at Española Humane are a couple of adorable doggies looking for furever homes. First, meet Tanisha. She is a blast of fun with a goofy attitude. She loves any form of water and would enjoy a life with someone who participates in outdoor activities. She often returns from walks with volunteers covered in mud with a big ol’ grin and wagging tail. Over the time Tanisha’s been here, we’ve noticed she has a fear of male dogs, but she enjoys playing with female dogs. For this reason, Tanisha should meet any potential canine housemates before going home with them. She is about 5 months old and came in as a stray.

Then, visit with Spunky who was picked up in the middle of the night when he was found laying in a homeowner’s yard bloody and beaten up. While the wounds on his body were being assessed, Spunky wagged his tail and licked the face of the animal control officer, and shelter staff knew he’d be okay. He is about 3 years old. We’ve cleaned his wounds, neutered him and he’s as happy as ever. Despite his scars and healing cuts, this dude is nothing but love whether you’re canine or human. Spunky wants to hug every person he meets.

These two and many others may be adopted daily from 10:30 a.m.-5 p.m. at Española Humane, 108 Hamm Parkway, Española. The shelter will be closed on Sept. 3 in observance of Labor Day.

SANTA FE HUMANE SOCIETY

Stop by the Santa Fe Animal Shelter and Humane Society to meet

Mack, a 2-year-old, medium-haired kitty. He came to us when his owner could no longer care for him and Mack is now ready to find a new home. He’s a bit shy and timid, but tends to come around once he gets comfortable with you.

Then Meet Epic! He is a handsome 9-month-old pup who weighs about 35 pounds. He may gain another 5-10 pounds before he’s done growing. Epic loves to play with other dogs and with his toys. He’s an active and athletic pup who would make a great hiking partner or companion for you.

Visit adoptable animals in the community during the shelter’s mobile adoption events: Saturday and Sunday, noon to 3 p.m., at PetSmart, 3561 Zafarano Drive.

These and other animals are available for adoption from the Santa Fe Animal Shelter at 100 Caja del Rio Road. The shelter’s adoption hours are from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.
