REGARDING THE east stands at Dreamstyle Stadium being so sparse for last Saturday’s Homecoming game---with TV not dictating the start time, UNM’s decision to kickoff at 4 p.m. instead of 6 p.m. is a September mystery. The fall edition of UNM’s Mirage Magazine (Alumni Associatio­n) had nothing on the cover promoting Homecoming but instead a picture of a ceramic water bottle. (This ain’t no Alabama). Just a couple more pieces of the puzzle as to why Lobo football games are poorly attended. — Joseph

MAYBE PARTICIPAN­TS in the Ryder Cup should be chosen for ability rather than the media trying to boost viewership. — RDH

LOBO BOYS SOCCER lost to a 2-win team in Loyola Marymount in OT? Who are they? Now they are 3-8? I wonder how many supporters were at the match? Oh wait. No one cares! Go Lobo football! — Chris

I HOPE THE members of the NMAA read the Journal story of October 2, 2018 about the gaming disorder that affects our youth and makes gaming “addictive”. Perhaps they will reconsider their decision to certify a gaming tournament as a sanctioned activity. If not, they may want to check with their insurance company to see if they may have some potential legal exposure. — Rich, Corrales
