SCOUTING THE LOBOS
The Lobos’ confidence is riding high after their impressive 50-14 win at UNLV last week. There weren’t too many negatives last week, especially on offense and defense. On offense, the Lobos were extremely balanced with 252 yards rushing and 250 yards passing. Quarterback Sheriron Jones led the team in passing (250 yards) and rushing (70) against the Rebels. Senior running back Tyrone Owens leads the way in the backfield, where junior Ahmari Davis also contributes. Last week, Zahneer Shuler showed that he can use his power and 6-foot-1, 232-pound frame to his advantage, especially near the goal line. He scored two touchdowns last week, one from 2 yards out and the other from a yard away.
