FOOTBALL: It’s been several years since Santa Fe (2-7, 0-2 in district) and Capital (2-6-1, 1-1) have been able to end the season facing each other, but the rivals will get to square up at 7 p.m. tonight at Ivan Head Stadium for some local bragging rights. It has been a rough season for both squads thus far, but a win would send the victor into the off season with some momentum.

MORE GRIDIRON:

Robertson and host West Las Vegas continue their annual gridiron feud tonight at 6 p.m. The Cardinals have dominated the series of late, with a 13-1

record over the past 13 seasons, but the Dons got oh, so close in the state quarterfin­als last season, losing 14-13.

BASKETBALL: The alums from Santa Fe Public Schools’ two high school programs will clash Saturday in an old-school meeting of longtime rivals. Santa Fe and Capital basketball players are meeting at 6 p.m. at the Toby Roybal Gymnasium in a fundraisin­g effort for both teams. Admission is $5.

RUNNING: It won’t be a foul day when you hit the pavement Nov. 17 at Fort Marcy Park for the 37th Annual Fowl Day

CLEAN-UP: The USDA Forest Service is looking for volunteers to a hike up the Arroyo Toro Route to Window Rock and help clean up the trail, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Nov. 17. There is a briefing at the Arroyo Toro Route at 10 a.m., 11.5 miles north of Española

The hike will be an eight-mile round trip. Volunteers must wear long pants and sturdy closed-toe shoes. Bring a day pack with water and sunscreen.

HOOPS: The Pecos boys basketball team is looking for former Panthers players and coaches to participat­e in an alumni game Nov. 16. In addition to the game, the festivitie­s will include a 3-point contest, free-throw contest and dunk contest. Contact Pecos coach Ira Harge Jr. at the school for informatio­n.
