Through the bait waters, trout fishing was good using worms, PowerBait, Fire Balls, egg patterns and small gold spoons. NAVAJO LAKE was a hot spot for Kokanee snagging. Mathew Medina reported that he and Ambyre Medina of Albuquerqu­e had their limits within 1½ hours on Sunday, and many others had the same success. Fishing was fair to good using roe sacs for trout. Monday morning flows on the CHAMA RIVER below El Vado and Abiquiu were 107 cfs and 102 cfs, respective­ly. Trout fishing below El Vado was good using worms, PowerBait, salmon eggs, copper John Barrs, and woolly worms and for brown and rainbow trout. Anglers using worms also reported catching a few perch. Fishing below Abiquiu was good using worms, salmon eggs and small bead head nymphs for trout. Streamflow on the CIMARRON RIVER near the town of Cimarron on Monday morning was 9.42 cfs. Streamflow on the PECOS RIVER near Pecos on Monday morning was 46.4 cfs. Fishing was good using copper John Barrs, prince nymphs, woolly worms, small gold spinners, worms and Fire Balls for brown and rainbow trout. Streamflow on the RIO GRANDE on Monday morning at the Taos Junction Bridge was 199 cfs. Trout fishing was very good using prince nymphs, bead-head hare’s ears, pheasant tails, Kastmaster­s, Panther Martins, Fisher Chick spinners, salmon eggs, PowerBait and night crawlers. Streamflow on the RIO GRANDE below Elephant Butte onMonday morning was 0.10 cfs. Fishing was fair to good using liver and worms for catfish. At ELEPHANT BUTTE LAKE, fishing was slow to fair using spoons, curlytail grubs and blade baits for white bass. Fishing for largemouth bass and smallmouth bass was slow, but a few were caught by anglers using jigs and spinner baits. Fishing was good using chicken liver, night crawlers, shrimp and cut bait for catfish. Stream flow on the GILA RIVER on Monday morning was 158 cfs. Fishing was good using small zebra midges and copper John Barrs for trout. At ALTO LAKE, fishing was good using PowerBait and salmon eggs for trout. Fishing at BLUEWATER LAKE was fair using large swim bait for tiger muskie. Fishing was good using night crawlers, hot dogs and liver for catfish. At CONCHAS LAKE, fishing was good using senkos, jigs, curly tail grubs, swim baits and tubes for largemouth bass and smallmouth bass. Fishing at BATAAN LAKE was good using PowerBait, worms and salmon eggs for trout.
