-

Julio Pardo, 89, passed away on Friday, November 9, 2018. He was born in Lower Manhattan, NY on February 3, 1929. Julio married the love of his life, Carol in 1954, and in 1956, shortly after he graduated from Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn, they moved from NY to Albuquerque. Here they raised three children while Julio worked 33 1/3 years at Sandia Labs. Julio always loved to go camping with his family in the company of his fellow Thunderbird Travel Trailer Club members. On weekends he loved to go to garage sales and find bargains and odd tools to add to his everexpanding collection. Julio was always repairing or building something—there was almost nothing he could not fix. He retired from Sandia Labs in 1990 and he and Carol spent the next 23 years travelling the world on various cruises, and also travelling closer to home in their RV.

Julio was preceded in death by his son, Brian. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Carol, daughter Karen Anderson and husband Mike, daughter Alisa Barbieur and husband Michael, and brotherin-law Jerold Fenty.

The family would like to express their gratitude to Professional Case Management and to Ambercare for their wonderful care of Julio during his last 16 months. Thanks to these wonderful caregivers Julio was always comfortable and would always tell you that he was "FAN-tastic!".

Upon his request, Julio will be cremated and there will be no memorial service. Friends who wish may contribute to NM Parkinson’s Disease Coalition, PO Box 35091, Albuquerque, 87176
