Dolores

Sanchez (affectionately known to family and friends as Lola). She was 99 years young, as she always said age is just a number. Mom was a longtime resident of Santa Fe. Mom passed away peacefully in her sleep in her home on Sunday, Nov.11, 2018. Mom was born on a farm in Belen, New Mexico on May 9, 1919 to Adolfo and Magdalena Padilla, one of six children. Her brothers were Eddie, Roque, Adolfo Junior, and Wilfred and sister Valentina. She was the last of the Padilla siblings to pass.

She will rest with her husband Aurelio Sanchez who passed in 1979.

She is survived by children Annabelle Rivera (Louis), LeRoy N. Sanchez (Helen),Yvonne Andres (Ron), and William Sanchez. Dolores is also the grandmother of nine grand children: Denise, Bryan,Rachael, Holly, Conrad, Erica, Tina, Conor, and Andrew and 15 greatgrandchildren.

Mom’s family was the world to her, as well as her friends. She made the best posole, red chile, albondigas, and biscochitos. Mom passed on her recipes to daughter Annabelle, knowing they would be in safe hands.
