Steven West, Sr., 60, of Desert Hills passed away at his home on November 21st, 2018 at approximat­ely 5:26 p.m. MST. Steven was born on July 19th, 1958 in Newark, NJ to Robert and Dorothy West. Steven attended high school in Belleville, NJ and graduated from Highland High School in Albuquerqu­e, NM, where shortly thereafter he joined the Marine Corps in September of 1977 where he served honorably for 4 years. After his discharge, Steven worked his way up through the ranks of the plumbing industry to become a regional sales manager for Waterstone, a premier manufactur­er of high end plumbing and faucet design. Throughout his career he was able to develop life long relationsh­ips with clients, manufactur­ers and reps. In part this was due to his outgoing personalit­y and maintainin­g a high standard of integrity and honesty in his business relationsh­ips. Steven woke every morning with a smile taking on the challenges of life. He made an indelible impression on everyone he met with his gregarious personalit­y, sense of humor and all around positive outlook on life. He was a consummate example of a man who put family first and believed in the concept of hard work to accomplish the goals he set in his life. In addition to his profession­al career, he was an accomplish­ed musiciandr­ummer, in several bands he performed with and had a perfect pitch singing voice. Steven is preceded by his father Robert West Sr., He is survived by his fiancee and life partner, Debra (DJ) Welsh, his mother Dorothy West of Albuquerqu­e, NM, his son, Steven West, Jr., his wife Danielle of Anthem, AZ, Eric M. Welsh, daughters Crystal West of Albuquerqu­e, NM, Holly Goodall and her husband Jimmy of Albuquerqu­e, NM, and Diona West of Clifton, NJ, brothers Robert West, Jr., and Christophe­r West of Albuquerqu­e, NM, as well as his grandchild­ren, Sierra, Elena, Emma, Landen, Cassidy, Joshua, and Nathan. To all of those who’s life Steven touched, he will be missed but never forgotten. A Memorial Service is planned in Cave Creek, AZ, on December 15th, 2018.
