Event pairs creative cocktails with decadent chocolate treats
Decadent chocolate paired with creative cocktails is a match made in heaven.
ChocolateDude and Tractor Brewing Co. are teaming up for a Chocolate and Cocktail Pairing on Thursday, Dec. 20. The pairing is part of Nob Hill Main Street’s Deck the Hill events.
“This night’s theme is ‘Pair It Up,’ so we wanted to team up with ChocolateDude because we serve cocktails now,” said Jeremy Kinter, marketing and events director for Tractor Brewing Co.. “We wanted to do specifically cocktail and chocolate, so there won’t be any beer or cider. It’s going to be four cocktails all together. We’re going to be serving our own vodka and whiskey, which is all of our own stuff.”
Tractor recently bottled its first batch of whiskey. It began distilling spirits under the name Troubled Minds this past summer.
“We’re super-stoked,” Kinter said. “It takes so long to make whiskey, because it’s got to age in the barrels. … We’re going to be serving that up as well. The four chocolates that we’re going to be pairing them with is Dark Chocolate Coyote, which is dark chocolate fudge dipped in dark chocolate. We’re going to be doing dark chocolate-covered strawberries. We’re going to be doing a mint truffle and a dark chocolate glacé orange. It’s covered in chocolate. That one is really good.”
When you order a cocktail, it will come paired with a chocolate item. Tractor mixologist Derrick Corson, is crafting the cocktails specifically for the chocolate items. He will be making a Spiced Vodka Daisy, a Caffeinated Russian, a Peppermint Julep and an Old Fashioned.
People can reserve their spot by following the link on ChocolateDude’s Facebook page. Slots begin at 5 p.m. and run in 30-minute or one-hour increments through 9 p.m. The slots were created so not everyone shows up at the same time, but walk-ins are welcome.
“We always wanted to do a chocolate and cocktail pairing,” Kinter said. “This is something that we’ve been talking about for a while, and so this afforded us the opportunity to do it. Especially for Christmas, for the holiday season, I feel it’s kind of perfect. And also we’re helping our fellow Nob Hill neighbor get more business by teaming up.”
