What you need to know about the Bears:

Well, in case the horse isn’t dead yet, another Lobos opponent has a small, quick guard who leads them in scoring. DeAndre Jones, at 5-11, has scored more than 20 points in three of the Bears’ past four games, dished out an average of 6 assists and hit 12-of-21 3-pointers in those games (the one game in that span he struggled, a Dec. 5 loss to Louisville, he had just two points in 22 minutes). UCA has beaten just one Division I team, though did so twice, winning at home and on the road against Arkansas Little Rock. Its other two wins are against non-Division I opponents. UCA ranks 75th of 353 D-I teams in 3-point shooting at 36.9 percent, but is hitting just 42.9 percent of its 2-point shots (331st).

What you need to know about the Lobos:

While UNM hasn’t been great at the free throw line (68.4 percent ranks 204th out of 353 teams), they are getting there about as much as any team, with a free-throw rate that ranks 23rd in the country against Division I teams. Considering Central Arkansas ranks 301st in defensive free-throw rate, there is a good chance the Lobos could have another shot at hitting more than 20 free throws today. They did that in their first five games of the season, but haven’t made 20 FTs in a game over the past three losses. In fact, after averaging 22.4 made FTs in the first five games, the losing streak has the Lobos hitting only 12.0.
